Five Sentence Fiction - Paradise

The word this week is Paradise

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

Who Reads the Small Print Anyway?

Clara dreamily watched the raindrops running down the windowpane, tracing their magical journey with a manicured fingertip.

The candle beside her flickered in the draft causing the diamonds in her ring to sparkle, throwing glittering confetti all around them.

This wasn’t quite how she imagined it would be but neither of them had taken the time to read the small print when they booked.

May was the rainy season and power-cuts on this part of the island were relatively common.

No wonder their dream honeymoon had come in well under budget.

Go to Lillie's blog to read the other stories of paradise -  lost, found, regained and imagined...

  1. Who ever reads the small print? Hopefully they can still have a fun honeymoon - it's not all about great weather.

    1. I think there's a lot of small print in marriage we don't read and gloss over. I don't think the weather is too big a deal here ;-)
      Thanks for the comment!

  2. Love this, really got the feeling of sated, relaxed, passionate honeymoon love!

    1. Thanks Lisa, that was the feeling I hoped to convey. In the end paradice is where you choose to find it and being with the right person is good enough :-)

    2. My honeymoon was in October, so rain was expected...didn't let it bother us! :)
