Five Sentence Fiction - Delicate

I've been mulling over the word delicate for a while thinking about its meaning and what kind of five sentence story I could write this week.

My original plan didn't come together but I shall save those thoughts for another day, another time...

In the end I guess my inspiration came from watching the entire series one box set of Once Upon A Time last month. My heart is well and truly stuck in Storybrooke - SIGH!

Just remember there's always a price to pay with MAGIC!

Heart of Glass

“What is the meaning of this?” He demanded opening the box to discover it was filled with broken shards of glass.

“Your true love’s heart of course.”

The impish grin was accompanied by a cackle.

“You find a way to mend it and I guarantee it will be yours FOREVER!”

    1. The box set was a surprise Christmas gift and I was so excited to receive it.

Even better I snuggled up and watched it with my 13 y/o and he loved it too. Think he prefered the battles to the romance though!

  3. Hi Sarah

    WOW
The moment I read this I got taken back to when I had been much younger and probably to a time before you'd have been born. I immediately began to hear the BeeGees singing their song about this same topic. Good show. :-)

Would love to hear your feedback on my endeavor for this prompt.:-)

    1. Yes I have heard that song I have it on a live Bee Gees CD somewhere - beauiful lyrics.

Broken hearts are delicate things to mend!

      Thanks for your comments.

    2. You're quite welcomed Sarah and THANKS for the comment you left on my blog. I'm glad we agree with the message of your endeavor for "DELICATE" and that of the song I posted. A BROKEN HEART is an extremely difficult thing to mend, some piece will always be missing.

    1. I counted the first paragraph as two. Maybe I am wrong but I assumed that because there was a question mark that automatically finished the first sentence. But I do know what you mean it reads as if it's just one and I did deliberate with the punctuation.

Anyway glad you like it - it might be something I come back and add more to!

  6. I love Once Upon A Time too and can't wait for it to return. You can't beat a good fairy tale and yours is very good; love the ending. I'm sure he'll move heaven and earth to find a way. x
